Biking again

Mark and I went biking again last night.  At first I wasn't going to take my camera but then decided to.  I'm glad I did because we saw a few deer and a toad.  We got a few pictures of the deer but were not able to get a picture of the fawn.  We saw a doe and two fawn at one point in time.  On two other occasions we saw a doe and one fawn.  The fawn still had their spots!!  While waiting to try to get a picture of the two fawn I saw a tiny toad hopping around.  It was pretty fast but I was able to get two good pictures.

On another note, we leave for Boston Friday afternoon.  We are staying with Jeff and Laura for the whole week.  It is VERY nice of them to allow us to stay that long.  Thank you Jeff and Laura!!!!  We are pretty excited.  Be sure to check out our site because if we have enough time we will try to add some to the site.

The Japanese have us beat (an understatement) when it comes to broadband

The median broadband speed in the US is 1.976MB/sec.  Doesn't sound too shabby.  As a matter of fact, that's pretty fast and is the platform for a great multimedia web experience.  Why do I still have to develop websites for people with dial-up?  There are too many people that still have it.  It's a shame, really.

Take Japan, for instance.  You may think Japan = more technologically sound than the US.  I agree in every way.  Japan's average broadband speed is 61MB/sec.  Not .61.  Not 6.1.  61.  That's over 30 times faster than the US.

Why can't we get with the program?

We thought this would never happen...

Mark's parents no longer have to have dial-up Internet!!!

The picture on the left is of the wireless antenna they had to get in order to have wireless internet. The picture on the right shows Mark in the gazebo searching the internet.  Jeff was incredibly excited when he found out that there was an Internet option other than dial-up.

Do you know who Paul Potts is? You do now!

This really caught my eye.  This guy was a phone salesman, and decided to come on Britain's Got Talent to sing Opera.  I don't like Opera, but this guy gives me chills.

Quite the biking experience

UltraFlate PlusMark and I went on a 12 mile bike ride.  We did our normal 7 miles and then decided to take the Hononegah path toward 251.  Once we got to Walgreens we went back into the neighborhood because we had never been back there.

We were almost to Walgreens again and I noticed that I had a flat back tire.  Luckily, earlier this week, Mark had me get CO2 cartridges for the new emergency pump. (pictured to the left)  He removed the tire from the frame and took the tube off.  I got out the spare tube and gave it to Mark.  He unrolled it and we both looked at it and then looked at each other.  The tube was a 16" BMX tube!!!!

Mark then decided that his spare tube, which is actually a tube with a presta valve, would work for my bike.  At least it would get me home!!  He successfully changed the tube and we were on our way!

We were close to Hononegah forest preserve again and a bug flew into my eye and it started to burn.  I had to stop for awhile to try to get the bug.  Mark turned around to find me because he thought I had another flat.  Thank goodness that was not the case because we would have either been walking home or he would have had to go home and get the car to pick me up.  Dry Fit ShirtDry Fit Shirt

We decided that we were going to go to Wal-Mart to get a tube that would actually fit my bike so that we can go biking tomorrow.  We decided to look to see if they had dry fit shirts and they did.  They are usually around $30 and they were less than $10!!!  Mark got a grey one like the picture and mine is just like the picture.  Now we are all set for another bike ride tomorrow night!!
