Happy Father's Day

I just wanted to say happy father's day to all of the fathers.  I hope everyone had a great day.

Phil, sorry you weren't able to go to the cabin and that you couldn't be with the boys on father's day.  We look forward to two weekends so we can see you.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It has rained almost everyday for two weeks.  Finally today it hasn't rained at all.  Last Sunday on our way home we saw a "shelf" in the sky.  It was kind of scary, but we did make it home safe and sound.  The pictures show this "shelf."  Since we were gone all weekend we were concerned about our house and water in the basement.

There is a ton of flooding around us, but luckily we have only had moisture in the basement and no actual water.  We got a humidifier to help with the moisture and so far it has been running nonstop.

Rockford Airfest

Last weekend (I know this blog is a little late) we went to Illinois because we had our closing on our old house.  Now we officially are done with everything involved in moving!

Sunday we were luckIMG_1193y enough to go to the Airfest.  Phil was able to get us tickets into the FedEx tent so we were up front and centered.  It rained pretty hard for about the first two hours, but after it stopped they were still able to get in most if not all of the planes.  Of course the best were the Thunderbirds!!

IMG_1184We were able to go inside of a FedEx plane and we saw "Wilson" the volleyball.  :)  It was fun being in the FedEx tent.  They certainly took care of us.  It was very convenient during all of the rain.  I didn't even get wet and they gave me a garbage bag to put over me which kept me warm more than anything.

I tried to get a few decent shots with my camera which are here.  Once Mark gets the ones with his camera processed we will post another blog.  His will be much clearer and closer.  I guess that is what you get when you can attach different zoom lenses and don't have just a point and shoot.

Congrats Jeff!!

Look what we discovered!

We went biking on Sunday and decided to check out the paved path that is in our neighborhood.  Needless to say it was Lac Lawrann Conservancy.  There are mountain bikes trails for us!!  Nothing is posted that we can't bike and nothing online says that we can't so we are pretty sure it's allowed.  The picture on the left is from the top of a hill that shows how close our subdivision is.  Seriously we probably biked less than a quarter of a mile to get there.  The picture on the right is on the top of the hill showing the main part of the conservancy.  That is where the trails are.  We looked online and found out there is a lake but we didn't discover it on our ride.

Seafood Fest at Regner Park

West Bend had Seafood Fest going on this weekend.  We decided that we would check it out.  It wasn't anything too spectacular, but there were a few stands to buy handmade stuff, music, and of course seafood.  Since we hadn't checked out Regner Park yet, we did that as well.  At the main entrance, there was a labyrinth of plants. We also walked around the pond and into the woods a little but didn't find a ton of stuff.  That afternoon we did some landscaping so we were pretty tired so we plan on going back so that we can see what else is there.
