Fish BoilFish Boil

We are now in Door County, Wisconsin for our “babymoon.”  Last night we traveled up to Fish Creek to partake in a fish boil.  About 15 minutes before the food was to be served we went outside to watch and learn about the fish boil.

When we first went outside we could see that the potatoes were already in a small basket boiling over the fire.  Shortly after that the “Master Boiler” brought out the bucket of locally caught fresh whitefish.

The “Master Boiler” then poured the fish into a larger basket that was placed on top of the smaller one.  He put a small amount of kerosene on the fire so that it would super heat the water.  Watch the video below to see the boil over.

We have a few more pictures so click here to view them.

Saturday we decided to go to the Mitchell Domes.  The special exhibit was Lego Land – Model Railroad Show.  Both Mark and I took pictures so we have a TON.  Obviously I can’t post all of them so be sure to take a look at them on flickr.

Above you can see a few of the Lego made items they had on exhibit.  Most of them were incorporated into the model railroad show.

These four pictures show off a little of the model railroad.  The railroad and Lego Land were all in the Floral Show Dome.

27 Weeks

27 Weeks (2)27 Weeks

On Tuesday I will be 28 weeks along which means we are officially in the last trimester!  I can’t believe how quickly it has gone and how soon the baby will be here.  Monday is our next appointment and we are then scheduled to go every two weeks until May 4th then we go every week until she is born.  At this next appointment I have to take the glucose test which will test for gestational diabetes.

I have been feeling pretty well lately.  I still tend to be fairly tired and get worn out easily, but that is to be expected.  The baby has been moving a ton lately.  It’s starting to get to the point where I feel more actual movements than just kicking.  I don’t think there is a ton of room for her to actually kick.

Today Mark finished putting in the closet shelves and he painted the first coat of the room.  It’s pretty exciting to know that we will soon be done with the room.  I think we will go next weekend to pick up the crib and dresser.  I doubt they will both fit in Mark’s SUV so we will probably have to make two trips.

At the end of this month we have decided to take a “babymoon.”  We are going to Door Co for a long weekend just to get away and relax one last time before the baby is born.  For those of you that don’t know, Door Co. is a county north of us that is a very popular place for vacations.  It’s a peninsula with Lake Michigan on one side and Green Bay on the other.  I have heard it referred to as Cape Cod of the Midwest.    We are really looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
