Memorial Day Weekend

The weather was beautiful for our Memorial Day weekend.  We didn’t do a ton but we did plant some flowers and have friends over for grilling and a small fire.  Mark also finished water proofing the basement and I was able to get a lot of reading done.  Overall, it was a great relaxing weekend!

Roasted Marshmallow

Here is a picture of our friend’s daughter, Samantha, enjoying her first roasted marshmallow.  She wasn’t into smores but I think she enjoyed the marshmallow.

We have officially finished the nursery!  It turned out just how I imagined it when buying everything.  We are now completely ready for her arrival, which could be at any time!

36 Weeks

This picture is not at 36 weeks but closer to 34.5 weeks.  Tomorrow I am 36 weeks along so that means 4 weeks to go!  We are getting really excited to have our little girl here.  Saturday we went and bought the stuff that we had to have to be fully ready for her arrival.

I am now on weekly doctor’s appointments and the appointment today went well.  I am measuring exactly 36 weeks, I have gained about 35 pounds, and my blood pressure was 110/60.  She said I am not dilated at all and the baby’s heart rate is good.

They consider you full term at 37 weeks so the baby can come at any time after that without any worries.  I won’t mind if she comes early and am hoping that she doesn’t come late.

Overall, I am feeling pretty well.  I am having more Braxton hicks, some slight cramping, and lower back pain, but the doctor said all of that is normal.  She actually seemed surprised that I wasn’t effaced or dilated since I was having those symptoms.  I am getting more uncomfortable but nothing major.  I actually expected it to be worse than it is.

The baby’s room should be finished by this weekend so keep checking back for pictures.

My coworkers were kind enough to throw me a baby shower.  They provided a delicious lunch for everyone which included ham and turkey sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, cowboy beans, chips, and two kinds of salad.

A group of the ladies got together and got us our mattress along with a few other things.  Other popular items were clothes and bath items.  One lady even made a blanket and booties.
