The annual Baylor family wiener roast was a few weekends ago. We were afraid that the day would be incredibly hot but it really wasn’t too bad. I think all of the trees that Phil and Sue have helped a ton.
Part of Sue’s side of the family was able to make it.
Now to the Baylor side…the cousin’s are all grown up now.
Phil’s brother, Ken, and his wife, Sue. Unfortunately, not all of the pictures turned out so we don’t have a picture of everyone.
Grandma and Steve enjoying the weather.
A few friends were able to join us as well.
Bill and Tanya’s kids, Brady and Lauren.
We had a water balloon fight and Mark gave Lillian one to play with. He put a small hole in it to see how she would react. She got a kick out of it and wasn’t always sure what to think when the water would go in her face.
Dorene and Jeff had a marshmallow cooking contest. Dorene won but they both enjoyed the end result of smores.
I think everyone enjoyed themselves and we hope to have the whole family here next year.

On the 4th of July, we went to Phil and Sue’s friend’s house, Lowell and Pam. They have a gorgeous yard with multiple flower beds.
They also have a dry creek bed that they put in. The first picture is looking down the dry creek bed and the second picture is looking up. It is very neat and I can’t imagine the piles of rocks that they had before finishing the project. This year, Lowell planted a huge variety of Lilies near their garden. There are even more varieties than I thought.
Lillian enjoyed playing in the grass and by one of the benches.
She wanted to swing in the hammock but when Pam tried to put her in it she was a little scared. So looking at it had to do. The other pictures are just two of the many variety of flowers that they have. Thanks for letting us see your beautiful yard, Lowell and Pam.

Lillian and I were outside playing and the neighbor girls came over to play. Mark got home from work shortly after so we took a few pictures.
The neighbor girls, Genevieve, Claire, and Evelyn.
Claire touching Lillian’s arm and Lillian wasn’t sure what to think. Lillian, Genevieve, and Claire sitting in Lillian’s wagon, and then the girls “racing” down the sidewalk.
We don’t have enough pictures of Lillian and daddy so I tried to get a few.
Here are the rest of the pictures.
Michele came to Phil and Sue’s to watch Lillian while we were at Phil’s surprise party and took some great pictures. She was nice enough to give us a copy of them so I wanted to show off some of our favorites. Thanks for taking great pictures once again, Michele!
While we were there we also were able to attend Brady’s first birthday party. Brady is Bill and Tanya’s little boy. The picture on the left is Lauren (Brady’s sister) and Lillian, and the right is Michele with the girls.
Our friends, Ken and Erin, sent Lillian a Christmas present. She really enjoyed hitting the box that they sent and attempting to tear the paper. Erin really enjoys sewing so she made a “taggy blanket” for Lillian.
On the third we had Michele, Bill, Tanya, Lauren, and Brady over. We had a great time!
Lauren is a great big sister! She loves Brady and gets excited when he is awake from his nap. She was also great with Lillian and loved to give her soft kisses on the head!
Here are the two babies, Lillian and Brady. Brady is 6 months old and a VERY happy baby.
We decided that we wanted to have fajitas and guacamole for dinner. They turned out delicious and I was even able to eat one fajita before Lillian decided it was her turn to eat.
Here is Michele enjoying time with the babies.
Too bad we didn’t get the sleeping babies up for the picture. Either way, it’s a great picture. We miss all of you! Lauren found the neighbor boy, Jimmy, to play with.
Poor little Brady slept with all of the girly things. He didn’t seem to mind too much though!
My friend/co-worker had her daughter, Sarah, on June 4th. Sarah is Dawn and Dan’s second daughter. You probably remember seeing pictures of Samantha in prior posts. They were able to come visit us on Friday so that Lillian and Sarah could meet, and of course so that we could see each others daughters.
The weather was beautiful for our Memorial Day weekend. We didn’t do a ton but we did plant some flowers and have friends over for grilling and a small fire. Mark also finished water proofing the basement and I was able to get a lot of reading done. Overall, it was a great relaxing weekend!
Here is a picture of our friend’s daughter, Samantha, enjoying her first roasted marshmallow. She wasn’t into smores but I think she enjoyed the marshmallow.
My coworkers were kind enough to throw me a baby shower. They provided a delicious lunch for everyone which included ham and turkey sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, cowboy beans, chips, and two kinds of salad.
A group of the ladies got together and got us our mattress along with a few other things. Other popular items were clothes and bath items. One lady even made a blanket and booties.
First we want to thank the ladies that planned the shower (Cathy, Dorene, Tanya, and Sue), it turned out fantastic. We also wanted to thank Phil and Sue for allowing us to have the shower at their house. Due to the rain, we had to have the shower in the house but I think it still worked out well.
We had a great turnout and want to thank everyone for coming. We got many great items, including clothes, books, a swing, a bouncer, diaper bag, diapers, a play gym, bath items, medical items, and many more things.
We also played a few games. One where we weren’t allowed to say the words baby or I. If someone caught you they were able to take one of your three pennies. The person with the most pennies was the winner. Dan’s children were the winners and they were kind enough to give us all of their pennies to put in the babies new ISU piggy bank. The other game was where we had to guess the price of different baby items and the person with the closest total was the winner. Linda was the winner of this game.
This is the diaper cake that my friend Stephanie made for us. The whole thing is made out of diapers and then she added a variety of baby items. What an awesome idea!! Thanks so much Stephanie!
Here is the picture slideshow from the special day. Thanks to Michele for being our photographer for the day.
