Lillian has started dancing when she hears music.  Here is a video showing off her fancy moves.

Lillian enjoyed sitting on the bench at Grandpa and Grandma’s House.  I like how the second picture looks like she is having a conversation with someone.

I bought Lillian some sunglasses the other day because she always wants to play with mine.  At first she didn’t like them but that didn’t last long.  Now she will keep them on for awhile and even ask to have them put on, just like she does with her hat and shoes.  She must be an accessory kind of girl. 

Lillian is very loving lately.  She will give hugs and kisses and sometimes just walks over to me and crawls into my lap.  Sometimes it’s just to sit and play and other times she leans back to lay on me. 

She has been pretty happy lately despite all of the teeth that she is getting.  In the last week, we noticed five new teeth, four of which were molars.  She has definitely been a trooper through all of it.

Last weekend we went camping at Long Lake.  It was Lillian’s first time camping and overall it went really well.  When we got there on Friday night we knew there was a chance of storms and unfortunately they didn’t wait until our tent was up.  So Lillian and I got stuck in the car while Mark was stuck out in the storm putting our tent up. 

Mark’s shirt got completely soaked so Saturday morning he hung up a clothes line and hung it to dry.  During the day, a butterfly decided to rest on his shirt.  It stayed there for a really long time so Mark was able to take some neat pictures.

We walked to the beach area of the lake and let Lillian play in the sand.  I wasn’t thinking about the sand when we left and figured we wouldn’t really get into the water so we didn’t put Lillian’s swimming suit on, well, we now have a ruined onesie.  Mark tried to let her put her feet in the water and you can see in the second picture how well that went. 

Lillian did enjoy looking at the water and walking in the sand. 

She had fun moving daddy’s mound of sand and trying to share her sand with us.  If you were wondering how we got her to leave the hat on it wasn’t hard because she loves it.  Even at home she will find it and try to put it on. 

Lillian loved camping because she was able to play outside all day.  The hardest part for Mark and I was that we each had to do things alone because the other was watching Lillian.  We also forgot her booster seat so we had to feed her in her car seat because we didn’t bring the stroller thinking we would just use the backpack if we walked anywhere.  So that was our biggest obstacle, and other than that we can’t complain about anything.

Lillian’s hair is getting to be pretty long so I tried putting it up this weekend.  We did a pony tail one day and then today I put it up in piggies.  As you can see from the picture, it sticks straight up! 

Lillian loves shoes or shish according to her.  Since she just started walking we don’t have many shoes for her but we do have a pair of crocs that someone gave us that fit her.  She found them in her closet and wanted to wear them.  They looked adorable but we weren’t comfortable letting her walk around alone with them on because she could easily hurt herself.

Tonight we went to visit our friends, Seth and Penny, and they had a tiny rocking chair that was just Lillian’s size.  She climbed into it and started rocking right away.  She had a ton of fun!

Well, it’s official, Lillian is walking.  She tends to fall a lot but for the most part she is choosing walking over crawling.  She takes 4 or more steps and then falls, then she gets back up and tries again.  Each day she is getting better and better.

Here is a video of her walking a few days ago.  At the time of the video she preferred only to walk from Mark to me or the opposite.  Now she will walk anywhere.

Grandpa and Grandma came up here last weekend to visit.  They brought us delicious veggies from their garden, of which we used some of the zucchini for lunch.  Lillian had a fun time with them as she always does.

Lillian has also discovered the cereal cabinet.  Mark and I were working on making dinner one night and she was playing in the cabinet.  The next thing we know, she is sitting in the cabinet!

Lillian has realized that she can climb into her little wagon.  She moves a few of the stuffed animals and climbs right in.  She also like playing with the handle and I’m sure before we know it she will be dragging the wagon around the house.

Life as a one year old is hard work.  Lillian gets to play all day long even before going to daycare.  We still have Sue’s old laptop that decided to stop working so we thought that it might be a way to get Lillian to leave our laptops alone.  It doesn’t work the best since there is nothing on the screen but every once in awhile she will play with it. 

She is normally in a decent mood in the mornings so it’s nice to have a little time with her before we have to leave for work.
