Lillian is Walking

WalkingWalkingWalking

Well, it’s official, Lillian is walking.  She tends to fall a lot but for the most part she is choosing walking over crawling.  She takes 4 or more steps and then falls, then she gets back up and tries again.  Each day she is getting better and better.

Here is a video of her walking a few days ago.  At the time of the video she preferred only to walk from Mark to me or the opposite.  Now she will walk anywhere.

Playing and Talking

PlayingPlaying

Lillian loves playing with her toys and the Classic Wii Remote.

PlayingPlaying

She has moments where she will play by herself for a long time but at other times she wants one of us to be right there.  She is starting to talk more and more and will talk away while playing.  She says a few words including ball, duck, bath, nose, shoe, hi, buh-bye, mama, dada, and dog, as well as signs more, all done, milk, and drink.

Here are two videos of some of her words.

Here are more pictures of her playing.

Playing on her Chair

by April Baylor, posted July 31, 2010 23:51

As mentioned in another post, Lillian loves her blue chair.  The other night she was sitting in it and throwing her books on the floor.  I was acting scared and it was making her crack up.  She actually was laughing harder than we were able to catch on video, but you get the idea of how much she was enjoying herself.

Walking with Support

Lillian is now able to walk with support, whether it be someone holding her hands, the couch, or toys.  Here is a video of her in action.

Lillian got to ride the tractor with Grandpa.  She really enjoyed herself and was giggling part of the time.

Lillian has started pulling herself up to standing.  She is now a pro and will use the couch, toys, the wall, and even me.

Here is a video of her playing and pulling herself up.

This video shows that she can also sit back down from standing.

Lillian’s First Birthday Party

by April Baylor, posted June 24, 2010 06:54

We celebrated Lillian’s first birthday with family and friends at our house.  I did a butterfly and flower theme with bright colors.

Here is a picture of the cake table.  We didn’t get enough close up pictures but I was able to get butterfly and flower picture holders that we put around the edge of the table.  Toward the back of the table I cut out a sign that said Happy Birthday.  You can see part of it in the picture of the cake and the picture of the smash cake.  I also cut out the blue Happy Birthday sign and we put that above the gift table.  The pictures on the sign are of Lillian’s monthly growth with her bear.

Here is Lillian in her birthday dress before everyone arrived.  In the picture on the right she is pointing at the balloon that she was swinging around and then dropped.

Lillian enjoyed playing with Great Grandma Baylor’s jewelry.  The weather ended up being nice so a lot of people enjoyed their time outside.  Phil and Sue were kind enough to bring their bags game so that was a hit as usual.

Lillian enjoys her blue chair from Great Grandma Baylor.  Even now she stands up to it and plays and is starting to attempt to walk around it.

She enjoyed helping open the presents and especially liked the tissue paper from the bags.

She also liked the ribbon.

Grandpa, Grandma, and Sharon put together her ball popper that she got from Aunt Ashley.  She seemed to want to help, but then decided that she would just show off the orange and red balls that came with it.

I think the best part for her in regards to the cake was when everyone was singing Happy Birthday to her.

After that, she didn’t really want to have too much to do with the cake.  But Grandpa was able to get her to take a bite.

Here is the video of the cake eating (or lack thereof):

After all of her gifts were opened and put together she went for a ride on her new car.  She then felt the need for a snack of Cheerios.

We also played with the balloon a little more.  Below is a video of her going crazy over the balloon:

Twelve Months Old

One Year OldOne Year OldOne Year OldEleven Months

Lillian is already a year old.  It’s amazing how quickly the time goes.  She has changed a ton over the last 12 months.  She is a ton of fun right now; giggly, playing games, and learning so much.  The first three pictures are in her birthday dress showing her size at 12 months and the last one if for comparison at 11 months.  She actually hasn’t grown that much in the past month.

At her 12 month appointment she only weighed 13 pounds 15 ounces which is below the last weight recorded about three weeks ago.  Her length was 26.5 inches.  She is now off of the charts for both weight and length.  Since her growth didn’t stay at about the same pattern as it has in the past, the doctor wanted blood work done to weed out any serious diseases.  So in addition to 3 shots, Lillian also had to have her blood drawn.  She didn’t like it but overall did fairly well.  All of the results came back normal so we were excited about that.

The doctor is having us go back in a month for another weight check.  Until then we are supposed to try to get Lillian to take 8 ounces of Pediasure a day.  Pediasure is a drink with a ton of nutrients in it.  They have many flavors so that is helpful and I think chocolate seems to be a favorite so far.  We have also tried banana and vanilla.  The only way we have been able to get her to take it is to mix it with her oatmeal.  We have also been trying to get higher fat and calorie foods hoping that we will be able to stop the Pediasure and continue with a well balanced diet through food instead of a nutrient drink.

The month started out a little scary with Lillian having pneumonia, but the Omnicef (antibiotic) cleared it up.  She had her second tooth poke through on May 4 so now she has the two middle teeth on the bottom.  She was sent home one day from daycare for throwing up but once Mark had her at home she was super happy.  When I went to clean her clothes, there really wasn’t much on them so I would consider it spitting up and not throwing up, but daycare has to protect the other kids as much as they can so I understand why they sent her home.

She got another ear infection and virus which included a 104.4 temp on two separate days.  The fever was brought down with Tylenol so it wasn’t that high for very long, but the temp did stay around for about 4 days.  We had to do ear drops for awhile but the drainage eventually subsided and through most of it she was a very happy baby.

Lillian tried many new foods this past month and her favorite would be Cheerios.  She would live on them if we let her.  She also started taking steps while we hold her hands.  We traveled to Sharon and Wayne’s house for Mother’s Day, which was Lillian’s first day trip over an hour away.  She grew enough to outgrow her 3-6 month jammies so she is now officially in 6-9 month.  She is almost always in a size bigger for pajamas than for clothes.  She is still in size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothes.

She has also started to do the sign for more.  Actually, she adapted her own way of doing it but we know that she means more.  The correct way to do it is to put all of your fingers together on each hand and then hit your finger tips together.

Going Shopping

by April Baylor, posted May 3, 2010 00:24

On Wednesday, Lillian found her way to the diaper bag and Target bags that I had on the floor waiting for us to go to the store.  She was playing with both and decided to crawl away.  Well, both bags were wrapped around her arms so it looked like she was going shopping.
