Today is my first day at Gateway Community Bank. I am a little nervous. Mark and I went to Ken and Erin's wedding on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. I really enjoy dancing with Mark, which we don't get to do very often. I should hear back from Amcore and Associated sometime this week. We haven't kept up with our site much lately. I guess because there really isn't much going on. I have been at home doing nothing because I can only clean so much and Mark has been working. We have had some pretty nasty storms in the last couple of days. When we were in Chicago Friday night the tornado sirens went off. Most of the storms have produced some hail and of course rain.
It has been a while since I have written a blog. KMK has been same old same old. We have 4 new clients...including Beef a Roo! Wouldn't that be cool. Free fast food for life...right! Turns out the game that I was going to miss got cancelled, yay! So now I still have not missed a single game. Our team is 2-1, not bad...considering the team only won 3 games total last year (or so I have been told). April has been interviewing for several full time positions. She has a part time job that she is starting on Monday. Let's home a sea of full time offers come rolling in before she gets too comfortable there. My Internet router starting smoking the other day, that was quite amusing, so I had an excuse to order a better one online. Our apartment is now wired up. We have wireless and hard wired ethernet. A dream for any geek. Until next blog, adios.
I ended up taking the part time teller position at Gateway Community Bank. I will begin working on the 24th. I have an interview Wednesday and Friday. Ken and Erin's wedding is on Saturday. I should probably make sure that I have my dress and shoes. Plus make sure that they still fit. :) Mark and I just reformatted my computer so it should be running a little better than it was awhile ago. I also bought a fan to replace the one that went out. Now I don't have to keep the side off of the case so that it doesn't get too hot.
Well, I was offered two part time teller positions. I am going to take one of them because I need the money, plus it will make it easier to move into a full time position. In the meantime I will be searching for a full time position. I cannot decide which one I am going to take. They both pay the same and I liked all of the people I spoke with, so that doesn't help my decision either. If you have any thoughts please let me know. It's really frustrating that I have to take another part time job after I have graduated from college. I have to figure out what I'm going to do about health insurance. My mom is checking to see if I can stay under theirs and there is one through ISU. Basically I have to search for something that is going to meet my needs and will not cost me much. I don't get sick enough to go to the doctor all that often so really all I need is something that will cover anything major.
I am writing this blog because April is making me. I really don't have a lot to say. April has moved in and we are still organizing the apartment. We have another game tomorrow, but there is a possibility of rain. Ken's wedding is also coming up. I am working on several new projects at KMK Media. This blog was boring, but the last 2 weeks have been as well.
So it was a colonoscopy that my mom had to have. Everything seemed to be fine; the doctor didn’t find anything that even needed to be tested. What a relief! Today is her Birthday and of course she had to have this done. Poor thing! I am almost completely unpacked. I just have so much that I don’t know what to do with it all. :)
I am officially an Illinois State University graduate!! All of my stuff is moved into the apartment, but I still have to unpack most of it. My dresser is still at home so I am going to be living out of boxes for that stuff for awhile. Oh well! Hopefully I get a job soon! I am still looking so I'm sure that I will. :) It would be nice if I got a call and could start working on Monday. I am going to get so bored if I don't find a job soon. I can only do so much around the apartment and with being used to always doing something it's going to be a drastic change. Mark was so sweet last night. I was still at my parent's house and he brought my desk in and set up my computer for me. When I got here he said that he wanted my opinion on something in the office and we went in there and it was all set up. :-D
I'm really scared...my mom has to get something tested for cancer on Tuesday. My Grandma died of cancer so there is a good possibility it could be something. Please pray for her!! Well I'm done with finals and am moving out most of my stuff tonight. A bunch of us girls are eating dinner at Bennigan's. I was really excited, but now I have my mom on my mind. I probably shouldn't worry because the doctor said it's usually not a big deal, but that doesn't change anything. I have an interview tomorrow with First National Bank in Beloit, WI. I guess I am meeting with the manager of the Investments Department. I hope it goes really well. I have three portfolios that I could take on interviews now. :) I am really going to miss school. It is what I have been used to all of my life. First grade school, then junior high, high school, and college. What a difference it's going to be.
I have my two finals today and then I am done with school!! Tomorrow I have to work for my last day at the advisement center. I am moving most of my stuff out with the help of my mom and my sister. After that I am eating at Bennigan's with a group of my friends. It should be a ton of fun! Ashley is letting me borrow her digital camera so hopefully I can get a lot of good pics. After that it's off to Mark's! For my 349 final, I have to get an 87% to keep my A. I know I can do it! For 385, I can't get an A, but I only need a 50% to keep my B. So I'm not all that stressed. I'm really ready to pack everything and get out of the dorms. Living in the dorms for four years hasn't been bad, but I am ready to be out of them. Well, I better get back to studying. :)
Well as everyone can see all of the blogs from last month have been archived to the right. I am at Ken's just hanging out this weekend. The weather service that we usually use decided that it wanted to take an unexpected nosedive. So unfortunately it's hard telling if they will ever get that fixed. We shall see. I am heading back today for another softball practice. As you all probably know by the shoutbox we lost out last game by 2 runs. We played really well as a team. Our next game is on Thursday. You can check the rest of the schedule in the events section of this site.
