June 2004 Entries

Nothing different is really going on, that is why we don't write much anymore. Friday night Mark and I went to Barrington and helped out one of Mark's mom's friends. After that we went to Old Chicago and hung out with Aaron, Drew, Goat, Biasi, and some girl that I don't know. Saturday we went to Summer Fest and saw Tantric in concert. It was a ton of fun!! We met Bridget and Pam there, but lost them right off of the bat. It was good to say hello though. I cannot believe that it is almost July already. I have an interview with the president of a bank on Thursday. This weekend we plan on going to Mark's parents for the 4th of July party and then going to see fireworks in Davis Park. I was driving home today and the radio said that CrossFade is going to be at Kryptonite on the 4th. That would be fun to go to, but I'm sure there will be a ton of people there. I get Saturday and Monday off so that is nice!
Mark has told me to write a blog for about a week or two. So I thought I would. Last weekend we went to my parent's house. It was a lot of fun. We played badminton almost all of Saturday night. Sunday we went to Mark's parent's house for Father's Day. We cooked on the grill and played wiffle ball. Last night Aaron and Jeff came over and we played X-box. The apartment has kind of gotten to be a mess so this morning I have already put two loads of laundry into the washer and one has made it to the dryer. I loaded the dishwasher and cleaned the kitchen other than the floor. I finally got my dresser so I feel like I can finally start to get things into place a little more. This weekend we are going to Wisconsin to Summer Fest. Bridget invited us so we decided we would go. I'm not sure of the exact plans yet, but I know it will be good to see Bridget and hang out. I know that Tantric is playing on Saturday night so we want to go to that for sure. Summer Fest always has a ton of bands and lasts for about a week. I'm not 100% sure exactly what else it is but the website is www.summerfest.com. Well, I better get going to work.
I am waiting for my work computer to finish installing some software, so I am going to write a blog. April and I went biking last night. April got a new bike from Rockford Bicycle. It is a Trek 4100 Womens. A decent beginners bike. Now I am really tempted to get one. Maybe soon I will be able to afford a nicer bike. April went from riding my dad's bike in Rock Cut to this bike that has a good shock and rides well on the trails. She is amazed at the difference a good bike can make. I think we are going to go again tonight because there is a 0% chance of rain. We may also be able to go on more offroad trails tonight, yay! :) The game that has been cancelled 2 weeks in a row has apparently been rescheduled for this coming Thursday. Looks like rain again, so who knows if we will be playing. We shall see. Well, that's about all I have to say for now. Also, if you are interested in coming to our 4th of July party, let me know.
I went to the doctor yesterday to figure out what was wrong with my stomach. I have been having stomach pains for about a month now. The doctor decided to put me on Nexium, and on Wednesday of this week I have an upper GI test (where I hafta swallow that nasty barium crap) and a cholesterol test (recommended by my doctor due to our family history). Not looking forward to it, but hopefully it will help determine what is wrong with me. Even as I type I don't feel right, but today is my first day of taking Nexium. Let's hope I can feel normal soon. Well, that's it for now.
Well, another week has passed. I am enjoying Gateway so far. Today was a beautiful day!! Mark and I cleaned the inside of our cars and spent the evening with his parents. It was really nice just sitting outside by the pond. We saw a squirrel's nest in one of the trees and there had to have been at least 6 babies jumping around. Too bad they were so high so that we couldn't see them very well. I bet they were really cute. :) Bridget got a full time job in Downer's Grove so that means that she is closer to Rockford now. There really isn't much going on around here. Mark and I bought a tomato plant so we will have fresh tomatoes soon. We also have herbs that we planted awhile ago, but they aren't doing the greatest so I think we may go buy some that are already started. I will TRY to write more than once a week, but you should feel lucky that I even write that often. :)
This weekend was a lot of fun. On Sunday some of us went to a concert at Davis Park. We got really lucky because it rained right before the concert and right after we finished grilling out. :) Most of us enjoyed it and some of us got a little red. People were throwing mud and mud wrestling which got annoying. They finally had to escort people out because of it. Afterwards, we came back to the apartment and grilled out. On Monday, Mark and I went to his parents house where we grilled out again. We picked up a filing cabinet and had a hard time figuring out where to put it. Now we can be more organized. :) I'm loving it, hehe. I feel that I am catching on at Gateway pretty well.
