January 2005 Entries

Yes, we have been slacking, but for good reason.  April and I have been very busy searching for a house, and have found one!  We just recently had a home inspection and everything turned out great.  A really nice piece of real estate.  I do not have any pictures at this time, but I can tell you about the house of course.

It is a ranch style house with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and a very nice basement that we plan on finishing at some point.  It has a 2 car garage with a small workshop attached.  It is sitting on about 1/3 of an acre and has some mature trees in the yard (it's a 17 year old home).  It has a lot of new additions in the past few years inlcuding a new air conditioning, all new windows, new carpeting and kitchen flooring, water heater, and closet interiors.  I will have pictures up when we close on the house, which is February 25.

That's all the news for now.

I know, I know, it's been a long time.  Over a month actually.  Mark and I have been looking at houses and we found one last night that we really like.  We like it so much that Mark's parents are going to look at it today and then we will probably be putting in an offer for it!!  We want his parents to look at it because they are more experienced and they may see something that we did not.  The house is a tri-level with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  It isn't too large but yet it's big enough.  The yard is almost one acre which is awesome in a subdivision.  It's on a cul-de-sac and the guy that currently owns it said that the neighbors are all really nice.  The only down side to the whole situation is that someone else has a contingency offer on it.  In other words, with our offer the current owner can accept or deny.  If he accepts, the person with the contingency offer can either say okay I will go ahead and buy the house or they can say that they can't do it.  Then the house would be ours.  I'm not sure if that makes complete sense (it's kind of hard to explain).

Well, here is the first post of the New Year.  Our party was a success and we had a great time.  We played some Cranium to pass the time before Midnight.  Both April's team and my team were unsuccessful at winning.

I have been shooting away with the new camera I got.  I am finally starting to learn the ins and outs of a digital SLR, which can be a bit frustrating at times.  April got me a wonderful new tripod for Christmas, so I have also been using that religiously.

We are celebrating my dad's 55th birthday and my 24th birthday tonight and it should be fun.

The weather here has been a little crazy, all of the schools are closed today due to snow.  It was fun to drive to work today in all of the snow (but that's due in part to an SUV).

We went and celerated Christmas with my Uncle Jeff and Aunt Dorene and cousins because they were vacationing in Vail on Christmas Eve (when we usually see them). I should have the pictures of that adventure up very soon.  Uncle Jeff fell and separated his shoulder on the last day of the trip.  What a bummer!

Well that's all that is happening right now.  I will get on April to write a blog more than once a month.
