April 2005 Entries

Today is my Golden Birthday which means I turned 23 on the 23rd.  Mark took me out to dinner at Cliff Breakers and told me that he had desert back at home.  He said that it was the best desert that I would ever have.  I just figured that it was something chocolate that I had never had before.  We got home after eating a delicious dinner and he told me to go sit on the couch.  I went and sat on the couch and he brought out the desert.  It was on a plate with a bowl over it and covered with towels.  He got down on one knee (which didn't mean much to me since I was sitting on the couch, I just figured he was getting down to my level so I could see the desert) uncovered the desert and it was a small black box.  He then opened it and told me that he loved me and wanted to be with me for the rest of his life and asked me to marry him.  Of course I said yes through my tears.  We hugged and then he put the beautiful ring on my finger.

Mark also got me the movie "The Notebook."  I read the book and have really wanted to see the movie but I was going to wait until it came "On Demand."  We always watch "On Demand" movies so I figured I could just wait, but now I don't have to.  After getting the ring and the movie we went to Mark's parent's house where we had cake and watched "Meet the Fockers."

I will never forget this Birthday that is for sure!  We have not talked about plans yet, but we will be sure to keep you updated!

Jeez, it's been almost a month since the last blog.  Luckily Michele yelled at me and reminded me to write a new one!

What has happened lately?

1.  A few parties to break in the new pad.

We had a couple parties and had Rob, Ken, Erin, Michele, Stephanie, and Jamie to our place.  Luckily the almost 4 hour drive didn't discourage Rob.

2.  Broke in the new mower.

We have grass, and with a push mower, it seems like a never ending sea of it.  Luckily it's self propelled. :)

3.  Decided to buy a new computer (that I still haven't bought).

Decided that my 6 year old computer just doesn't cut it for a computer nerd.  When fans start breaking, it is time for a new machine.  I can't decide exactly what I want (of course I build my own computer, so I need to pick every single component, from RAM to motherboard to case to power supply)

4.  Took some pictures and broke in the new camera a little more.

Of course the pictures aren't up yet because I am lazy or don't have the time.  (You pick one)

5.  Purchased "Meet the Fockers" and witnessed April fall asleep in a great comedy.

Not like this is unusual or anything.  She would fall asleep in a 15 minute short film.  Luckily I still love her.

I am sure that I have missed several other things, but I have given you enough to determine that I could write a book called "A Nerd's Life" and fill it with 30 pages, tops.

That's enough, back to the nerdery for me.
