I got this recipe in an email from kraftfoods and decided to give it a try.  It was delicious, easy, and took less than 15 minutes.  You can also sign up for their free recipe magazine.  It comes 5 or 6 (I can't remember) times a year.  I don't always find a lot of recipes that we like, but have found a few.IMG_0524

Creamy Tomato Tortellini

  • 1 pkg. (9 oz) frozen cheese tortellini
  • 2 cups frozen broccoli
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 4 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • Grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Cook pasta as directed on package, adding broccoli to the boiling water for the last 3 min. of the pasta cooking time.

Meanwhile, cook tomatoes in large skillet on medium heat 5 min.  Add cream cheese and Italian seasoning; cook 2-3 min or until cream cheese is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring frequently.

Drain past mixture.  Add to tomato mixture in skillet, mix lightly.  Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

IMG_0519 I pulled out of the driveway this morning and saw another beautiful sky.  I pulled out my camera and took a picture of it while at the stop sign.  It was cooler looking in real life, but this picture will have to do.  After all, this was through my windshield (which is filty!).

Last night I looked outside and saw this beautiful sky.   I made Mark come look and he decided to get out my camera.  Unfortunately by the time he also got out his camera it no longer looked like this.  I just thought it was neat how the clouds looked so dark but where the sun was hitting the bottom of them they were red.

Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. Red sky at night, sailors delight.

On Labor Day, we went over to Phil & Sue's for a cookout.  After lunch, Mark decided to get Hank's pool out for him to play in.  At first, he didIMG_0473n't want anything to do with the pool and showed us by running around the pool as fast as he could.  It was hilarious!  Finally, Mark got him to get in the pool.  He finally enjoyed it a little bit.  To see all of the pictures, click here.

There was a very intricate spiderweb between two of the boards on the gazebo so I had to get a picture of it.  If you click on the picture you can see the details more.

IMG_0509We went to Volcano Falls with Bill, Tanya, and Lauren for a IMG_0484little putt-putt.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous.  Out of pure luck I got a hole in one on the first two holes and Bill told me I would disappoint him if I didn't continue that streak.  Needless to say, he was disappointed.  hehe  There were not too many holes that any of us got over par on.  Bill and I actually ended up below par for our final score.  To see all of the pictures, click here.

IMG_0427My mom and sister decided to visit Labor Day weekend.  We took them to Edward's Apple Orchard in Poplar Grove.  I thought that my mom might like the little shop that they have.  In the farm animal barn they had baby animals, including a calf, two kids (baby goat), pigs (they were pretty old already), and a few more animals.  The calf wouldn't let Mark pet it because all it wanted to do was lick his hand.  IMG_0451

We had to get apple doughnuts and apples.  My mom also got apple jelly, and we got some mozzarella garlic spread.

After that we decided to go to the farmer's market to see what fresh produce we could get.  They didn't have strawberries for the apple strawberry pie we were going to make, but they did have sweet corn, peaches, and watermelons.  So for dinner we had sweet corn and chicken sandwiches with tomatoes from our garden.

We decided to have a small fire in the backyard with smores.  Bill, Tanya, Lauren, Phil, and Sue also came over to enjoy it with us.
